It can feel almost disorienting to wake up without deadlines or obligations — and feel good about it. Some people are startled by the joy that arises once the constant motion quiets down.
There may also be guilt: “Shouldn’t I be doing more?” But joy doesn’t require justification. It’s the body’s way of saying, You’ve arrived somewhere worth resting.
Let yourself delight in small things: slow mornings, sunlight on the kitchen table, a favorite book in the middle of the day. These moments are not wasted — they’re part of your healing.
